Being Thankful- A Note from the SaltyGirls

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

-William Arthur Ward

As we welcome the Fall and the season of Thanksgiving, we wanted to take a moment to stop and take stock of all the things we are grateful for here at SaltyGirl Beauty. Without gratitude, we would not be where we are today. From our friends and families, to the community that has helped lift us up, we are always mindful of the things that have made SaltyGirl Beauty, and our lives, such a wonderful place to create in.

 A Note from Sarah

I am thankful.
For some reason writing what I am thankful is so hard for me this year.  I feel like there are just too many things that come to my mind and so it's hard to share.  But here goes......this year was amazing and yet another one of those years I am thankful I made it through.  My husband and I welcomed our third "surprise" baby, a baby we didn't think would be possible.  Caleb is 7 months today (11/20) and he is just full of love and laughter.  He is a true third baby and just goes with the flow and is literally always smiling or eating.  He is curious and just loves his big brother Graham and big sister Anna, and they adore him.
I am thankful for my husband Chris who supports me 1000% in all my crazy ideas and dreams.  He is a true partner in everything that comes our way!  I count my blessings everyday that we randomly met one night at a bar called Atwoods in Cambridge, MA.
I am beyond thankful I have such a supportive and close family--our family grew this year not just by the birth of Caleb but both my sisters Leah and Kristen welcomed babies this year making me an Auntie and God Mother!  My parents who are always there for us and are more friends than parents at this point in my life---they live a half a mile down the street and my kids are always saying it's more fun at their house!  Next month my Dad is trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa raising money for our non-profit Foundation4Love.  Nothing stops my Dad and I am so proud and thankful for all he does in support of us.
Lastly, I am beyond thankful for the growth of SaltyGirl this year and that is all due to the community who supports us!  So from the BOTTOM OF MY HEART!  Thank you.

A Note from Leah

At every Thanksgiving, I have started a tradition with my family to go around the table and say one thing we are most thankful for. It's a hard question when you are surrounded by an abundance of love and support everyday because you don't know where to start. I am truly grateful for my health and for the health of my husband. This year, I gave birth to the most beautiful little girl and named her Lucy. She has brought me immense joy and has made me look at life in a more simpler, but fruitful way -- I never thought spending a Friday night at the local library reading books would be so much fun.
Sarah's health and her surviving cancer is the next thing I will FOREVER be thankful for. I'm thankful for having such a close family - Mom, Dad, Sarah, Kristen, Teddy....We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
Lastly, SaltyGirl Beauty was a crazy thought 3 years ago and never did I think we would have come this far. I have learned over the years that nothing is impossible. The people I have met, the places I have gone and the handwork I have spent has made this experience worth every second.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
