Less is More: Packing Essentials
Packing doesn't have to cause stress and worry!
We’ve been traveling a lot lately and it’s become more and more clear that packing light is the way to go. In the past, we’ve always packed too many things; things we didn’t need and ended up just being dead weight on both short and long trips alike. These are our tips to packing light, our #lessismore packing essentials if you will.
Cool, Versatile Clothing
When it comes to packing, clothes can be the area where we overdo it. Never knowing what type of mood we’ll be in or what kind of weather we’ll encounter has always driven us to pack everything but the kitchen sink… well, we’re packing smarter not harder! You’ve heard of capsule collections right? Well, pack a mini capsule collection based on the length of your trip. Finding classic and versatile pieces that can be dressed up or dressed down is our best bet when we’re traveling. What are we packing this go around? A slick black blazer, a white button down, jeans, a comfy dress and a tee and leggings for travel! Each of these items can swap back and forth to create a couple of different outfits for our meetings, dinner and leisure time.
Two Pairs of Shoes, Tops!
Shoes, glorious shoes! We want to bring them all, especially the cuties that never see enough action… but this has always been a mistake for us when packing. We choose too many then when we’re out in the wild, we usually only choose out tried and true favorites… so we’re only bringing those this time around. Sure, sure, there won’t be as many options, but our bags will be lighter and we won’t have to stress about all the options. Cute slip on sneaks are perfect for travel and leisure time. Our black wedge booties are heading into the bag for all other occasions and you know what? It’ll all be just fine!
A Compact Beauty Routine
We love our cosmetics and beauty stash, as you’d imagine, but when traveling, we like to keep it real and compact. When it comes to being on the go, there are all sorts of rules so we’re sure to pack our basics: a good foundation, a multi stick, lipstick and mascara. If you have a #LessisMore makeup routine, traveling is the perfect time to use it!
We’re all adults so we may not have to tell you to pack underwear but we can never be too careful when we’re doling out advice on the internet! Pack what you need obviously--We’re talking undergarments, socks, toothpaste, a good book, healthy snacks, and those little things that you need and will undoubtedly have to find somewhere, which is the last thing you want to do when traveling!
We’d love to hear what you pack when you’re trying to keep it light. We haven’t perfected our routine yet and are looking for more tips!
